Abstract

Because of lobbying from groups both on and off campus, Richard J. Pattenaude, president of the University of Southern Maine, has decided to delay, at least for a semester, plans to eliminate degree programs in physics, statistics and applied immunology. The art faculty has also saved the art gallery by proposing to give it a higher community profile. With outline of final plans to reshape the university in order to save $1.8 million.
