Abstract

Authorities are trying to determine if a fire that destroyed Alan Crocker's trailer in Readfield was the result of a possible hate crime. Crocker, 46, is gay. He had been harassed prior to the fire with hang-up telephone calls at night and raps on his windows. About a month ago his trailer was spray-painted with the words "get out or die--fag." Crocker lost all his belongings.
