Abstract

The city of Bath has traditionally provided services to its surrounding towns, including Arrowsic, Georgetown, Phippsburg, West Bath and Woolwich, but now that Bath is experiencing financial problems those services are in jeopardy. The towns are being asked to contribute more to the Patten Free Library, and might have to pay a larger share of the county tax as Bath's property valuation decreases. Some of the towns are looking to other communities, such as Wiscasset, for services, which could create even more problems for Bath. Details, related article on services Bath provides to neighboring communities.
