Abstract

The city of Bath has filed a suit in Kennebec County Superior Court against the state Board of Property Tax Review and Bath Iron Works, asking that the board's ruling in the city's tax case with BIW be determined null and void. The board's December 23 ruling that the city overtaxed BIW in 1991 means the city owes the shipbuilder $1.7 million in tax refunds and $400,000 in interest. Details.
