Abstract

Brief article reporting that the Portland City Council last night decided to give Peabody House a $100,000 deferred loan. The loan is essentially a grant that must be repaid only if the house is sold or its use changes within 30 years. The funds will come from federal money that the city receives for nonprofit housing organizations.
