Abstract

Christopher St. John, a lobbyist for the low-incomed for the past twelve years, has resigned to become the director of the new Maine Center for Economic Policy, which is sponsored by the Ford and Mott foundations' State Fiscal Policy Project. The center is the outgrowth of a coalition of more than two dozen organizations, known as Taxpayers for a Fair Budget. St. John has a reputation for being a dogged advocate and an articulate spokesman. He is well respected across the political spectrum.
