Abstract

A replica of the Half Moon, Henry Hudson's exploration ship, slipped into Portland Harbor yesterday to refuel and possibly add some more crew. The original Half Moon, captained by the Englishman Hudson but financed by Dutch interests, traveled in the Gulf of Maine and along the East Coast in 1609. The replica is scheduled to participate in a parade of ships on Lake Michigan to kick off Chicago's round of World Cup soccer matches. Details.
