Abstract

A record 94,532 people applied for permits to take part in this year's moose hunt, which runs from October 3 through October 8. A crowd of around 300 was on hand yesterday as officials from the state Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife picked the names of 1,080 residents and 120 non-residents in the lottery at the Augusta Armory. Details, complete list of those receiving permits.
