Abstract

John Pulsifer, 57, of Scarborough, who used to own Ford, Lincoln-Mercury, Subaru and Volkswagen dealerships, filed for bankruptcy in 1991, listing $1.55 million in assets against more than $9 million in debts. The new Jolly John Auto City in Saco, in which Pulsifer has no equity stake, is now the leading Chrysler dealership in the state, and some of the 100 creditors who lost money when Pulsifer went bankrupt are touchy about his new success.
