Abstract

Another in a series of articles profiling the Democratic candidates for the 1st District congressional seat. State Senate President Dennis Dutremble, 47, of Biddeford, a 16-year veteran of the state Legislature, supports an increase in the minimum wage, a constitutional amendment to balance the budget and a mandatory seat-belt law. Dutremble previously opposed legalized abortions and gay-rights legislation, but has reversed his stance on both issues in recent years.
