Abstract

Annette and Michael Lavallee of Saco are upset that St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford won't allow them to mount a photograph of their deceased 12-year-old son on his headstone. Rickey Lavallee was killed in an all-terrain vehicle accident in 1992, and in May 1993 the couple purchased a monument that had a place for the boy's picture. In November, the cemetery association said displaying the photograph violated the rules of the National Catholic Cemetery Association. Details.
