Abstract

Shawn T. Hallisey, 29, of Machiasport, one of seven Democratic candidates for the 2nd District congressional seat, yesterday said that the jail time he served for a fatal car crash and beating his wife have made him a better person. Hallisey was convicted of misconduct with a motor vehicle for a 1983 automobile accident that resulted in the death of a New York teacher, and spent time in jail in 1988 after being convicted of assaulting his wife.
