Abstract

The Old Orchard Beach Town Council last night voted unanimously to allow rock concerts at The Ballpark to reach an average decibel level of 104 during a three minute span. The 104 average is a music industry standard, and measurements would be taken at the mixing console, 100 feet in front of the stage, instead of at the property line. If the maximum is exceeded and adjustments are not made, promoter Archie St. Hilaire would be subject to a minimum fine of $1,000.
