Abstract

The Nonantum Hotel resort in Kennebunkport, which housed the press corps and White House staff when George Bush was in town during his presidency, is scheduled to be sold at a bank foreclosure auction June 7. Owner Harper Sibley III yesterday said the Ocean Avenue resort fell behind on its payments after Bush lost his 1992 re-election bid. The 3.4-acre resort is assessed at $6.1 million by the town, and is currently in the possession of Casco Northern Bank.
