Abstract

Dogs are an issue in Portland's city cemeteries. Dogs running free and the desecration of gravesites by animal feces has prompted a local veterans organization to lobby the city council to prohibit dogs from the city's cemeteries. At Western Cemetery a three-year-old child was bitten and several complaints about desecration received.
