Abstract

Carmen R. Gordon, widow of Army Master Sgt. Gary Gordon of Lincoln, yesterday was presented the Congressional Medal of Honor by President Clinton in a White House ceremony. Gordon, 33, and Sgt. 1st Class Randall Shughart, 25, of Newville, Penn., were awarded the medal posthumously for their actions in Somalia on October 3, 1994. The medals were the first awarded since the Vietnam War. Details.
