Abstract

W. Dana Perkins, director of quality control for the Portland Water District, has told the Maine Department of Environmental Protection that the current management system in place at Sebago Lake should be abandoned because it reduces water-level fluctuations that are important to wildlife and shorelands. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission is currently considering a complaint that S.D. Warren, which controls the water flow through the Eel Weir hydroelectric dam into the Presumpscot River, improperly raised the lake's level in 1987. Details.
