Abstract

The Scarborough Board of Education yesterday voted to discuss with state officials the possibility of air conditioning the town's new middle school. State officials have not encouraged the air conditioning of Maine schools, but with schools getting more year-round use and the possibility of year-round schooling the idea may gain acceptance. The new school will cost $9.85 million, making it the most expensive middle school in the state. Details.
