Abstract

A group of ten students from Mt. Ararat High School yesterday participated in a study by counting clams at the clam flat at Broad Cove in Cumberland. The clam flat has been closed for ten years due to high levels of bacteria, and state marine officials are trying to determine if it could once again be beneficial to the community. The students found large numbers of clams in every sample they took, indicating that the area is thriving. Details.
