Abstract

The Portland School Board met yesterday in the city council chamber and nominated and elected Nicholas Mavadones, a ferry boat captain, to be board chairman. Assignments were made to the budget, communications, curriculum, operations and personnel committees for the 1994-95 school year and the need to find a replacement for Superintendent Thomas K. Edwards, who plans to leave when his contract runs out next year, was discussed. Lists committee assignments.
