Abstract
James J. Tracey Jr., 26, is seeking the Republican nomination for state House District 24, which includes the east end of South Portland and the northeastern portion of Cape Elizabeth. Tracey faces rape charges in Rhode Island for a 1992 assault there on a University of Maine student. Tracey, who was also a University of Maine student at the time, was in Providence attending a hockey tournament as part of a student bus trip. Now married, Tracey maintains that he is innocent.
