Abstract
Some Yarmouth residents have accused the School Department of electioneering and of trying to influence the school committee elections. Ethan McClusker, a sophomore at Yarmouth High School, by his own admission, took it upon himself to hang posters in the school critical of Barbara Paul, a candidate for the committee, and some teachers have been charged with lobbying students for or against particular candidates and with wearing campaign buttons. McClusker was told to take down his posters and teachers have been directed to remove their buttons. Superintendent Kenneth Murray, in to a complaint from Paul, said the School Department is neutral.
