Abstract

According to unofficial returns, Cumberland County sheriff Wesley Ridlon barely beat his opponent, Christopher Muse, for the Democratic nomination for sheriff, by a vote of 11,877 to 11,191. The hotly contested primary pitted Sheriff Ridlon against one of his deputies and has created tensions within the department. Ridlon is virtually assured of reelection in November because there is no Republican candidate.
