Abstract

With 89 percent of the vote counted as of last night, Joseph E. Brennan emerged as the clear winner in the race for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination. Brennan received 50,259 votes or 56 percent of the total. Thomas H. Allen finished second with 21,677 votes, or 24 percent of the total. With 7,994 votes, or nine percent of the total, Richard Barringer finished a distant third, followed by Robert Woodbury with 7,295 votes and Donnell Carroll with a mere 2,361.
