Abstract

At an informal meeting held last evening, South Portland city managerJere Bryant said that the city will not be able to stop plans for a 15-unit cluster development on South Portland's border in Cape Elizabeth. Some South Portlanders are concerned because the only access to the development will be by way of Edgewood and Charlotte roads, which are now dead-end streets in South Portland. Neighbors fear the development will cause a serious increase in traffic and might undermine the value of their properties. While Cape officials will have final say, they have encouraged South Portlanders make their views known at public meetings, and have shown an interest in working with South Portland officials.
