Abstract

Editorial lauding the successful efforts of the Maine and New Hampshire congressional delegations to get the Navy to abandon a bidding process deemed unfair to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and to other public yards. The payoff came recently when the Navy awarded the Kittery a $6.1 million contract for work on the USS Alexandria, beginning next Janury, and to larger projects in 1996 and 1997.
