Abstract

Editorial indicating that the Pine Tree Legal Assistance Inc.'s challenge to the Maine law requiring fathers to pay child support or risk loosing their state-issued licenses does not seem well founded. Pine Tree Legal contends that the notice sent out about the law is not written so as to be understood at the sixth-grade level, but the editorialist contends that since more than 10,000 parents have stepped forward to pay what they owed since the law went into effect in June, the language of the notice does not seem to be a serious problem.
