Abstract

For the second time in a year, state employees will have their wages delayed to help balance the state budget. The delay is part of a legislative budget technique that moved the state's share of the last state payroll of the fiscal year into the next budget year. The Maine State Employees Credit Union will provide interest-free loans of up to $500 to state employees due to be paid today.
