Abstract

Thomas F. Valleau, Portland's director of transportation and waterfront, has asked the City Council for $575,000 to replace the pilings beneath the International Marine Terminal and install a new roof on the structure. Engineers have determined that around 150 of the 500 pilings that support the terminal have rotted, and that the roof's steel framing has rusted. Valleau said the work would be the last needed for at least ten years. Details.
