Abstract

Walter G. Amprey, superintendent of schools in Baltimore, Maryland, on Wednesday said that budget constraints and opposition from parents and teachers have persuaded him to abandon a plan under which the Hyde Foundation of Bath would run the city's troubled Patterson High School. Malcolm Gauld, headmaster of Hyde School, said he will continue efforts to move into other public schools. The Hyde Foundation was founded in 1990 to bring Hyde School teaching principles to public schools.
