Abstract

The Portland Planning Board tonight will hold a public meeting on the proposal by the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad Co. and Museum to run the historic trains around the Eastern Promenade. The board has received around 100 letters from supporters and opponents of the project, which will result in nearly two-thirds of a mile of track laid between India Street and Fish Point. The museum says it will move the track if it conflicts with the planned walking and bicycling trail. Details.
