Abstract

Maine Educational Assessment test scores for 16,000 fourth-graders showed an average increase of 15 points for math and five points for reading, while scores on science, social studies, arts and humanities and writing remained unchanged. Girls and boys in general scored differently on some sections of the test, with girls scoring higher in reading and essay writing and boys scoring higher in math. Details.
