Abstract

Around 50 youngsters in grades 4-8 are participating in the Peacemakers Program, run by the Rheedlen Center of New York and designed to teach young people living in violence-plagued urban centers conflict resolution skills. The program, which brought young people from Harlem to the Bowdoin campus in Brunswick, stresses patience, tolerance and respect. The Rheedlen Center is run by a number of African Americans who attended Bowdoin in the mid-70s. Details.
