Abstract

Inn Touch of Portland, owned by Alan Freedman, operates touch-screen computerized kiosks at the Sonesta and Howard Johnson hotels in Portland and at the city's International Marine Terminal. The kiosks offer information about hotels and events, provide directions to Maine resorts and can call taxicabs with the touch of a finger. Freedman says that Inn Touch is profitable, but growth at the four-year-old company has been slow. Details.
