Abstract
Systems Control Inc. competed against three other companies for the $40 million contract to operate Maine's automobile emissions control program, and after it was awarded the contract had just ten months to set up the seven test stations. CarTest, the first broadscale effort in the nation involving the IM 240 emissions test, is a major opportunity in the fast-growing new emissions-testing industry for the Sunnyvale, Calif., company. Systems Control within the past month was informed that it had won similar contracts in Indiana and Michigan worth around $110 million combined. Details.
