Abstract

The Finance Authority of Maine yesterday revoked the eligibility of the Career Institute in Sanford to participate in a federal student loan program. The school allegedly owes tens of thousands of dollars in refunds to former students, and a recent television report said it had the highest default rate in the state. Career Institute this week announced that it was closing its Falmouth office, cutting staff and not accepting any more students.
