Abstract

Moody's Investor's Service and Standard & Poor's yesterday upgraded Cape Elizabeth's bond rating to "AA" and "AA minus" respectively, indicating that the bonds are high grade. The ratings will allow the town to save thousands of dollars in interest cost over 20-years on general obligations bonds that are being issued to pay for renovation of the town's middle and elementary schools, the purchase of the Thomas Jordan estate, and for handicapped accessibility impovements at the town hall and library.
