Abstract

Sanford contractor Lawrence Allen, owner of L.V. Allen & Sons, has finally been paid the $64,728 he billed the government for a project at the Sanford Municipal Airport which he completed in April 1990. Allen had to rely on the intervention of Maine's congressional delegation to get paid for the work, which was okayed by the Federal Aviation Administration because Barbara Bush used the airport on her way from Washington, D.C. to Kennebunkport.
