Abstract

Maine Employers' Mutual Insurance Co., the state's largest workers' compensation insurer, wants to cut its average rate by 3.4 percent effective October 1. The rate filing, subject to review by state insurance regulators, comes after a 5.2 percent price cut by Acadia Insurance Co. and a 5.1 percent cut by Commercial Union. The last voluntary price decrease by workers' compensation insurers in the state is believed to have taken place 35 years ago. Details.
