Abstract

Tourists entering the state on the Maine Turnpike in Kittery encounter the slogan "Maine: The Way Life Should Be." LSM New England Group came up with the slogan in 1988, in an effort to make people think about Maine's intangible qualities. State tourism officials decided earlier this year to keep the slogan after asking three ad agencies to try and top it. Details.
