Abstract

Central Maine Power Co. (CMP) and the town of Fort Fairfield have been meeting for three days in an attempt to find a compromise over CMP's proposed buyout of the Fairfield Energy Venture power plant. The two have asked the Maine Public Utilities Commission to delay a hearing set for today on the utility's buyout plans. The Fort Fairfield plant burns around 355,000 tons of waste wood annually, at a cost of $7 million. Details.
