Abstract

Harvey Prager, a convicted drug smuggler who avoided jail time by agreeing to work with AIDS patients, will begin work on Monday as a law clerk for Maine Supreme Court justice Howard Dana. Prager's criminal background, his treatment by the courts, and his appointment as Dana's law clerk have been the source of considerable controversy.
