Abstract

A dump truck loaded with 300-degree asphalt yesterday veered off Route 5 in Waterboro to avoid a car, collided with another vehicle, overturned and spilled hot asphalt into the vehicle. Seven youths, part of a group from the Drake's Island Improvement Association, were burned to various degrees. Adam Dorey, 13, of Connecticut, was listed in stable condition at Maine Medical Center yesterday evening, while the other victims were treated and released. Details, related article.
