Abstract

A federal jury yesterday found that Memorial Hospital in Freemont, Ohio, and Dr. Charles Hull violated the Federal Rehabilitation Act, which prohibits discrimination against the disabled by an institution that receives federal money. The jury awarded $512,000 to the estate of Fred Caron, 29, of Portland, who died of AIDS in March 1993. Charon had been refused treatment at Freemont Hospital by Dr. Hull in 1992.
