Abstract

Richard and Nancy Friedman sold everything they owned in Bellingham, Washington, to purchase the 66-ton Explorer, a 60-foot trawler-like boat built by the Irish shipyard Malahide. The Friedmans and their three sons arrived on the East Coast in June, and are currently fitting out the vessel at Sunset Marina in South Portland. The family will sail August 17 for a global voyage.
