Abstract

Richard Anderson, state conservation commissioner under former governor Joseph Brennan, yesterday said that independent gubernatorial candidate Angus King has overstated his role in the process that created the Land for Maine's Future Board. King earlier this summer issued a news release that suggested he played a major role in winning legislative approval of a $35 million bond issue that has financed the board's public land acquisitions. King said that he never meant to take all the credit for creation of the board. Details.
