Abstract

Five teen-age girls, all students at Thornton Academy in Saco, are being credited with saving the life of Brian Gossic, 26, of Michigan, who was injured in a diving accident Friday night in the Saco River. Gossic ignored the girls' warnings about shallow water and dived headfirst from a bridge off Market Street in Saco, suffering neck and back injuries. The girls helped Gossic stay afloat in the water until rescue crews arrived. Details.
