Abstract

Kathy Newell has formed the Peaks Island School Alumni Association, and anyone who was ever linked to the school is welcome to attend. Newell found the names of 2,590 former students in school records, and has sent letters to 700 former students and employees to invite them to join. The association hopes to raise money for a college scholarship fund for Peaks graduates and to refinish the roughened gymnasium floor. The 115-year-old school building currently serves around 100 K-5 students. Details.
