Abstract

Maine Secretary of State G. William Diamond yesterday picked the name of Shirlee Connors-Carlson out of a metal box, and in so doing broke the June primary tie between Republican House candidates Connors-Carlson of St. John Plantation and John M. Brown of Eagle Lake. Diamond and his deputies said they believe it is the first time the tie-breaker procedure enacted into law in 1913 had ever been used. Details.
