Abstract

Charles Woodman, 70, of Appleton, has been ordered by Superior Court justice Nancy Mills to remove a trout pond he created on his 150-acre farm. Mills upheld a state Department of Environmental Protection finding that construction of the pond violated a land quality law, but rejected a $7,000 fine requested by the state. Woodman, a retired teacher and professional rhododendron grower, has formed the Land Owners Alert organization to keep landowners informed of new laws affecting them.
